A digital twin is a virtual representation of something in the real world. It brings together all the data about a thing
into one place so it can serve as a means through which sharing and automation can occur.
When it comes to things in your supply chain such as shipments of goods in parcels or on pallets, the digital
twin should hold all the information relevant to that thing.
When it comes to the assets that move those things such as packouts, plastic pallets, bins, intermodal
containers, and trailers, the digital twin of those assets should hold the information about how the asset should be managed
but also link to everything it moved.
There are many other use cases for digital twins in supply chains and each of them can be represented by a QR Sensor.
Include with shipping documentation or apply to parcels, pallets, and permanent physical assets. QR Sensors can be printed on PDFs and standard labels or exported to produce asset labels (paper, metal or plastic). Every QR Sensor includes a unique Serial Shipping Container Code GS1 Identification number simplifying LSP integrations.
Any data relevant to a digital twin can be stored and accessed through its QR Sensor. The namespaced key-value store allow for nested information updatable or readable by multiple parties. Values have standard mime-types for ease of exchange. API keys provide secure service integration points for systems updating data in the QR Sensor key-value store.
Share information seamlessly across organizational boundaries. The Web Applets SDK enables custom user experiences. Accessible for anonymous users or limited to specific identities (email domains, email addresses, cellphones), these Applets allow access to and updating of information from all parties in supply chain operations.
Webhook-driven events that can notify external systems whenever digital twins are updated. With a QR Sensor digital twin, all parties in a supply chain see the same events at the same time. This assures that all parties are always up to date. With its unique namespace architecture, different parties can securely receive different levels of information.
